We have an opportunity to impact your career and provide an adventure where you can push the limits of what's possible.As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a critical role in hands-on research, prototyping, and engineering work that supports innovation initiatives within the CFS organization. You will be instrumental in developing and testing new technologies and solutions that align with Cloud Foundational Services' strategic goals and new product incubation efforts. Your work will directly contribute to making our organization an exciting and dynamic place for technologists and managers alike. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders and peers to bring innovative ideas to life through technical implementation.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on research to explore new technologies and approaches for cloud innovation.
- Develop innovative technical solutions that address the needs of Research, Development, and Innovation initiatives.
- Create and refine prototypes and pilot programs to demonstrate the viability of new technologies or approaches.
- Rapidly iterate on designs to improve functionality and performance of prototypes and pilots.
- Design and develop high-quality technology solutions tailored to incubator or innovation program requirements.
- Leverage expertise in distributed and cloud-native systems to build robust and scalable platforms.
- Document technical specifications, designs, and best practices for engineering projects.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work collaboratively with peers, technology leaders, application/platform engineers, and architects.
- Participate in major technical decisions, developing technical proposals that consider alternatives and business cases.
- Support strategic goals and new product incubation efforts within the Cloud Foundational Services organization.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience in engineering and prototyping, with a proven track record of developing innovative solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and platforms, including microservices, containers, IaaS, storage, security, and identity.
- Demonstrable skills in rapid prototyping and methods to shorten development cycles for platforms, software, and AI/ML products.
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes.
- Considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Passion for technology and innovation, with a commitment to driving positive change within the organization.
- Experience collaborating with senior leaders and peers to bring innovative ideas to life through technical implementation.
- Ability to document and communicate technical specifications, designs, and best practices clearly.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrate deep domain expertise in a rising technology space such as Quantum Computing.
- Obtain relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or similar.
- Apply in-depth understanding of security best practices and regulatory requirements; security credentials from SANS, ISC2 (e.g., CISSP) are helpful.
- Leverage strong understanding of financial services industry trends, open source in finance, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape.
