This role is in the Takeda Japan Innovation Center (TJIC), as part of the global network of Innovation Capability Centers (ICCs). Our ICCs focus on delivering digital solutions across Takeda and building our internal digital capabilities to ensure we are future-ready.
TJIC collaborates with the global ICCs to supports our Japan based business units and functions with cutting-edge technologies such as AI and big data. As a TJIC member, you will work closely with Japan-based business units and functions while regularly collaborating with colleagues in global ICCs to exchange knowledge and drive innovation.

THE OPPORTUNITY As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will take ownership of high-impact data and technology projects, steering them to success within scope, budget, and timelines. You'll enable teams to thrive by facilitating Scrum/Waterfall processes, removing obstacles, and mentoring agile practices while fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Manage and lead projects to completion within agreed timeline, budget and quality.
For agile projects: facilitate the Scrum process Ensure that the Scrum framework is followed, including organizing and leading Scrum ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Remove obstacles. Identify and eliminate impediments that hinder the team's progress, enabling them to work more efficiently. Resolve issues and risks
Coach and mentor Provide advanced guidance on Agile(scrum) and project management principles and practices, helping the team to improve their agile maturity and performance.
Foster collaboration Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment.
Drive continuous improvement Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of initiatives and use these metrics to drive ongoing improvements in processes and outcomes.
Drive Project Success: Own end-to-end delivery of Data and Technology projects, ensuring they meet scope, quality, budget, and timeline to achieve business value.
Manage Stakeholder Communications: Be the central hub for all project communication, effectively engaging and managing expectations of all stakeholders, from leadership to product owners and technical teams.
Oversee Resources & Risks: Strategically plan and optimize project resources (people, budget, tech) and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
Additionally, they contribute to the implementation of DevOps practices to enhance overall product development and delivery efficiency
Offer conceptual and innovative approaches to improve organizational agility.
Guide, coach, and mentor more junior or aspiring Project managers and Scrum Masters.
Deliver ongoing training for the team, product owners, developers, and testers to consolidate and support the future development of agile methods in the organization.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary:
Allowances: Commutation, Housing, Overtime Work etc.
Salary Increase: Annually, Bonus Payment: Twice a year
Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/ Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/ Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, (Narita) 8:30-17:15, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, May Day, Year-End Holidays etc. (approx. 123 days in a year)
