Position Summary:
As a Senior Manager -Operations, Innovation & Technology Strategy, you will report to the VP - Corporate Affairs Operations, and lead the strategic development, execution and optimization of technology solutions that drive efficiency, automation and data-driven decision-making across Corporate Affairs. You will partner with internal teams (Digital, Data, Analytics & Technology (DDAT) and Program Modernization) to design and deliver a cohesive technology roadmap that supports department and business priorities while integrating AI-driven and automation tools to enhance productivity and scalability. You will combine technical expertise, project management excellence and a passion for innovation to transform how Corporate Affairs operates.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Corporate Affairs' technology roadmap in partnership with DDAT and Program Modernization. Ensure technology initiatives and spending align with department objectives and budget.
- Possess and maintain a deep understanding of legal tech innovation (e.g. contract review, drafting, legal research) and lead identification and implementation of new tech use cases.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices.
- Ensure Corp Affairs has visibility to and is implementing internal tech innovation as appropriate.
- Provide training and change management support to promote AI fluency and user engagement within the Corporate Affairs team
- Build and manage Knowledge Management frameworks (e.g., content standards, version control, sharing practices).
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and ROI of automation and process improvement efforts.
- Build and lead a governance structure to oversee and prioritize Corporate Affairs technology projects, including:
- Evaluation, implementation, and administration of tools (e.g., Legal Tracker, Knowable, etc.).
- Tech innovation and improvement initiatives, such as automation and AI pilots.
- Consult and partner with the Program Modernization team on resource and needs assessments to guide work allocation as needed (Program Modernization team will continue to own all Compliance-specific projects).
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Corporate, Legal Operations or related field
- Minimum 4 years' experience in Legal Technology, or process automation, preferably within an in-house Legal Department or law firm
- Experience with legal technology systems (e-billing, matter management, CLM, knowledge management) and AI-driven legal technologies (legal research, document review, and risk assessment platforms)
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology and automation projects from concept to execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workflow tools; familiarity with Legal platforms like Onit, TeamConnect, CounselLink, Legal Tracker, TyMetrix T360, SimpleLegal, or comparable systems.
- Ability to balance technical and business considerations when designing automation and AI solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Agile).
- Strong interest in innovation, automation, and digital transformation within the legal domain.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and performance tracking.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect technology capabilities to business outcomes.
- Strong project management skills and ability to deliver initiatives on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Deep understanding of change management and user adoption strategies.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, evolving priorities and emerging technologies.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), preferably in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent years of related professional work experience may substitute
- Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$90,480.00 - $199,144.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
