About This Role
The School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is an exciting and entrepreneurial office within the College, which offers a wide variety of non-credit classes, courses, seminars, and training sessions for the community. These offerings are focused on revitalizing careers, upgrading skills and credentials, growing businesses, and pursuing pastimes and passions.
The Gateway to Innovation (GTI) Instructor delivers high-quality in-person and hybrid instruction in support of the Gateway to Innovation program under the SCC4 grant initiative. The instructor facilitates industry-recognized credential pathways in areas such as Information Technology, Data Analytics, and Human Resources. This role integrates technical instruction, career readiness, and experiential learning to support student retention, credential attainment, and employment outcomes aligned with workforce and Good Jobs principles.
The GTI Instructor collaborates with CEWD leadership, coordinators, employer partners, and advisory boards to ensure curriculum relevance, instructional quality, and measurable student success. What Youll Do:
Deliver in-person and hybrid instruction aligned with approved GTI curricula and industry recognized credential standards.
Facilitate structured learning experiences that reinforce technical competencies, problem solving skills, and career readiness practices.
Monitor student progress, provide academic support, and identify learning gaps to improve completion and credential attainment rates.
Maintain accurate instructional records, attendance, engagement hours, and student performance data in alignment with grant reporting requirements and CEWD systems.
Collaborate with program coordinators and career services staff to support student employment pathways and employer engagement initiatives.
Participate in program meetings, professional development, advisory board discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide feedback to leadership on curriculum effectiveness, student outcomes, and workforce alignment.
Maintain instructional materials and ensure curriculum delivery remains current with industry standards.
What Youll Need
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience teaching, training, or facilitating instruction for adult learners in workforce development, higher education, or corporate environments.
Subject matter expertise or industry-recognized certification in relevant instructional area (e.g., CompTIA, HRCI).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing in-person or hybrid classroom environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems.
Experience tracking student performance and maintaining instructional documentation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and maintain inclusive learning environments.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support student activities.
