Job Purpose and Impact
The Regional Manufacturing Innovation Director will provide leadership to the company's highly motivated team of Research and Development process modeling and Discrete Event Simulation engineers. This team collaborates with regional Manufacturing Technology teams, other R&D teams and manufacturing sites on high-value, high-priority process modeling projects. This team's work is integral to optimizing yield, energy, throughput and safety to ensure success of manufacturing facilities. This individual will proactively partner with internal stakeholders to anticipate business needs that require the support of the process innovation team, then support the team in project delivery.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the team of Process Modeling and Discrete Event Simulation engineers. Plan and review their contributions, set quality standards, promote best practices, track progress, communicate expectations and results.
- Set team members goals and guide priorities, conduct performance feedback, support career development, onboard new members, drive adoption of efficient ways of working, foster engagement, inclusion and safety.
- Develop and foster relationships with internal clients to anticipate, support, and drive the creation of manufacturing innovation project needs.
- Drive the progression of the tools the team uses and bring in better ways of working from the outside world, balancing innovation and effectiveness.
- Where needed execute on the most technically challenging, ambiguous and impactful projects. Collaborate with operation and R&D teams to develop process simulations that include the appropriate level of technical detail to describe current operations and application details to demonstrate optimization of costs, quality and capacity of manufacturing processes
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in the organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Experience creating process simulation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in a technical field
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience with chemical process modeling
- Experience with Discrete Event Simulation
Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $130,000-$180,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first. As part of your overall rewards, we offer a comprehensive benefit program including medical and/or other benefits dependent on the position offered and hours worked. Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
