Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth assessments and evaluations that help in understanding clients' mental health statuses, providing the foundation for personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual therapy sessions using a variety of evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care, meticulously tailored to the distinct needs of each client.
- Collaborate with clients to establish therapeutic goals that align with their personal growth ambitions and evaluate their progress continuously, making adjustments to the treatment plan when necessary.
- Utilize teletherapy tools to provide virtual therapy, ensuring that clients have consistent access to mental health services from any location.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation of therapy sessions, adhering to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards to support accountability and quality of care.
- Participate in continuous professional development by engaging in training sessions, workshops, and peer consultations to stay updated on the latest clinical practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role focuses primarily on individuals dealing with various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders. You will work with a diverse client base, which may include children, adolescents, adults, and families. Your contributions will play a key role in helping clients achieve emotional stability and improved quality of life.
Qualifications
- A current and valid license in Virginia as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; however, those with a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology are preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, necessary for building trusting relationships with clients.
- Empathy and a non-judgmental attitude are essential to creating a safe and supportive environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities to effectively handle a diverse caseload.
Preferred Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, preferably in a telehealth setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms will also be advantageous, as you will be utilizing these tools to manage client sessions and documentation.
